The shipping methods proposed on Cardotaku are:

  • Surface Mail (by Japan Post)
  • Air Mail (by Japan Post)
  • International ePacket (by Japan Post)
  • FedEx International Economy® (by FedEx)
  • FedEx International Priority® (by FedEx)

Mail sent by post is first picked up by the Japanese National Post in Japan, then picked up and delivered by the national post of the recipient country once it arrives there.

Surface Mail is the method of sending by sea, by ship which may take more than 3 months of delivery. This method offers neither follow-up nor insurance.

Air Mail is the method of sending by air, by air. This method is without follow-up and insurance. The delivery time is 4 to 15 days. More in case of exceptional situations.

International ePacket shipping method by Air Mail including a tracking number and insurance up to ¥ 6,000.

FedEx modes are express shipments.

Please note that delivery times for mail delivered by post vary.
They depend on several criteria such as public holidays, weather, natural disasters, holidays, strikes, holiday periods, exceptional situations and force majeure, etc.
It's also not uncommon for mail sent out a few days apart to arrive out of order. You may place one order, then another a few days later, and the most recent order will arrive first.

We recommend that you regularly follow up on your mail.
You will be able to check if your mail is waiting for you at the post office in the event of a transit advice note not left in your mailbox.

You will find all the details concerning the shipments, in English, on the official website of the Japanese post office in the International Mail section.
We invite you to read it.
