Please read the full article for more information, examples and to discover the countries concerned.

From 1 July 2021, the value added tax (VAT) exemption for the importation of goods into the EU with a value not exceeding EUR 22 has been be removed. As a result, all goods imported into the EU are subject to VAT. If the sale of goods to buyers in the EU is facilitated through an electronic interface, the electronic interface is considered to have made the sale and is in principle liable for the payment of VAT. The Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS) was created to facilitate and simplify the declaration and payment of VAT for distance sales of imported goods with a value not exceeding EUR 150.

As soon as you have not paid the VAT during the payment, the carrier is required to ask you for it by invoicing you in passing the administration fees which may vary according to the desired transport company.

In order to simplify the procedures for you and avoid unnecessary administrative costs, the deduction of VAT at source has been set up on Cardotaku.com, which is then paid to each country of the European Union concerned.

This levy only concerns orders under 150 euro and concerns all the countries of the European Union listed below.
Nothing changes for orders over 150 euro. That is to say that the VAT is not levied on the site and that you must pay it before or upon receipt of your order to the carrier as well as the administrative costs which may vary according to the desired company.

Examples:

You place an order on Cardotaku.com whose value is less than 150 euro:

  1. You pay the order + the VAT corresponding to your country on Cardotaku.com
  2. You receive your order faster without having to pay more later.

You place an order on a shop not registered in the VAT register in the European Union whose value is less than 150 euro:

  1. You pay for the order.
  2. You receive your order less quickly having to go through customs clearance.
  3. You then pay the VAT to the carrier before or upon receipt of your order.
  4. You pay handling fees to the carrier that can vary from 5 to 20 euro depending on the company you want.

Conclusion:

By buying on Cardotaku.com for less than 150 euro you save between 5 and 20 euro and save delivery time in the end.

Advantages:

  • Pay in advance, no administration fees.
  • Pay in advance, parcel arrives faster.
  • It costs you less and receive your order faster.
