Duel Masters is a Trading Card Game published by Wizard of the Coast.
Duel Masters is therefore suitable for beginners and younger players alike, thanks to its more intuitive gameplay and attractive designs.
It can also be recommended as an initiation to understand the mechanics before starting to play or collect Magic.
Both players must have at least 40 cards in their deck. They place their shields in front of them (5 cards face-down) and draw 5 cards from their deck to form their hand.
The aim of the game is to first destroy the opponent's 5 shields, then inflict a decisive blow on the opponent to win the game.
Duel Masters is primarily based on these creatures and characters, which you can collect and find in several expansions over time.
At present, Duel Masters is only published in Japanese, so collectors will need to collect in that language. You can find our products here.
Promotional cards are plentiful and feature original designs that are different from what can be found in the expansions 🙂
Duel Master is a flagship license in Japan with a place in popular culture. Many collectors around the world follow the evolution and releases of this license.
We'd like to thank you for reading this and look forward to hearing from you if you're looking for single cards or products not yet (or no longer) available.

]]>What better way to do this than to get to know you, our Cardotaku.com customers! Today we'd like to interview one of our customers: Alec.
Alec is a new collector fresh from Japan. He's always been a fan of anime, especially One Piece. "I remember rushing home from college so I could watch my episode on TV and find out what happened next".
He works at Cardotaku preparing orders, storing cards and editing videos.
"As I was saying, I've always been passionate about the One Piece universe, and I used to collect figurines. However, I discovered my passion for card collecting thanks to my wife, who collects Japanese Pokemon cards.
Unfortunately for me, there was no One Piece card collection and the other licenses didn't really tempt me.
Then, much to my delight, the TCG One Piece Card Game came along: and that was my trigger!
The TCG was ambitious from the outset, with elaborate cards, highly original illustrations, events, competitions, exclusives..."
"I started collecting the One Piece TCG with the OP-01 set, which was the first set to be released. I was already in Japan when the expansion came out and decided I wanted to collect it. So my first goal was to make the OP01 master set. I've just finished it.
I also collect promotional and event cards, but my collection has really turned towards the Manga Alt cards: my goal is to have them all.
I also try to open a box of each set when it's released for the excitement of discovering new cards and artwork.
I like to take chances and be surprised by what I can find in the box.
I also collect sealed boosters, I want to have one of each that I'd put on display under Plexiglas and line up with the Manga alt cards from each expansion."
"I love the fact that I can share the collection and this passion with my family: my wife and my two brothers (whom I've managed to convert to collecting Japanese One Piece cards).
I think it's really great because, being in Japan, I have the role of informer and I regularly send them news about new cards and releases.
They'll be coming to Japan soon, and I can't wait to share the experience of searching for cards in the stores and completing our collection together, as a family.
I love this research aspect: wandering around the stores looking for pepites and window shopping for expensive cards that aren't yet in my collection!"
"I'd like to continue my manga card collection and therefore buy them with each new expansion. Currently, I'm still missing Sabo's OP04-083 manga card, and that will be my next card purchase.
Otherwise, I'd like to get the competition cards, which are often in limited quantities and really beautiful:
- Luffy Championship
- Zoro Flagship
- Championship Admirals and Marines
These are my next goals."
"MAGNIFICENT" and sentimental because, whatever happens, the cards are released in Japan, when I live there, and this gives me a memory and an experience of my life in Japan: working at cardotaku, discovering each release, researching, picking when opening my boxes... All these memories are engraved in my cards.
Otherwise, from a more "concrete" point of view, I'd say that for my collection, I prefer to have few cards but "bangers" and quality cards that really mean something to me and that I'd like to display and show off.
My favorite character is Trafalgar Law and I dream of one day seeing a manga parallel of this character, you can be sure I'll get it straight away! I'd also like to see a parallel manga of Boa.
- Yamato alternative OP01: I drew it from a booster with my wife and when it came out, it was truly one of the rarest cards and one of the first of this standing that I'd picked! I was so happy when I saw it come out of the booster! I love the emotions we get from collecting TCG cards. It was a great time!
- The P-006 magazine promo card: I went to the konbini to get the card myself when the magazine came out, and it was the very first One Piece promotional card in existence (apart from the pre-release booster), so I was really proud to be in Japan, to go and get it out of my Saikyo jump!
- Mihawk promo Standard battle ST03-005: The card looks like a painting in a museum, it really gives off a strong emotion! I also really like Peronna, who's on it and who accompanies it, so it's definitely a card I wanted to have in my collection.
A few years ago, I'd never have put even 50 euros into a card, it would have seemed inconceivable to me, and when my wife spent fortunes on Japanese Pokemon cards, I supported her, but without really understanding.
Today, my most expensive card cost me 600 euros, so you can imagine that I understand her completely, and that we're in this passion hand in hand.
What changed my mind was discovering the different rarities, the difficulties of obtaining cards, the cards limited to certain events or offered to winners, the collection objectives and the final satisfaction of finally having a beautiful card in my hands and for my collection. I have no regrets, and now that I know the business, I'm really enjoying it!
Yes, as you can see, between the interview and the publication of the blog post, I bought myself the Zoro Championship card!
Next objective: the OP04 master set, because I think it's the most beautiful set they've released since the creation of the TCG... To be continued :)
Thanks to Alec for this interview about his collection of Japanese One Piece cards. We love to hear about collectors' passions. If you want to be next, send us a message via the contact form ;)

]]>The "standard" size cards like the TCG licenses: Pokémon, Digimon, One Piece, Duel Masters, Wixoss, Shadowverse Evolve, Z/X, Vividz, Union Arena, Build Divide, Magic...
The "small" size cards are mainly arcade cards (SDBH Super Dragon Ball Heroes, Gundam...), but also Yu-Gi-Oh!
Each sleeves product sheet is equipped with a video presenting the sleeve and its rendering with the card inside.
If you want to protect your Trading Card Game cards like Pokémon, One Piece and other licenses mentioned below, then you will have to turn to the "standard" format.
We offer many different types of sleeves to protect them and here is a summary of our products:
To protect your arcade cards like Super Dragon Ball Heroes, Gundam or Yu-Gi-oh! cards, here are the different products we have for you.
To protect your cards with a solid protection, we also propose you the toploaders in two sizes:
- the standard size
- the small size
We also propose hard protective cases:
- the standard size

There is also a hard case to protect your Japanese boosters.
To display and showcase your cards and boosters, discover the T-stand.
We have made a summary video of all our products to discover them and enjoy the demonstrations.
We hope we have been able to help you find the ideal protection for your collections.
Manon from Cardotaku
The booster is currently quite rare and is only distributed for this event and there is no announcement of a reprint yet.
We will offer the cards by unit as well as the sealed boosters as soon as possible on the Cardotaku website in the "Pokémon Scarlet - Violet / promo" section.
If you want, you can contact us for a quote if the product is not in stock when you search at info@cardotaku.com.
In addition, all participants received a random Nemora promo card (of the 2) and a "Rare Candy" promo card. We will be offering them individually soon.
Thanks for reading and see you soon,
Manon from Cardotaku
Today, we meet again to talk about our collector of the day! It's Sueli, a Pokémon license customer at Cardotaku and we want to let her speak and enter her world.
"I have always been passionate about Pokémon video games, I discovered them as soon as they were released and that's when this world and its stories conquered me. Since then, I have been able to discover each region and each generation through time and games. In fact, I can't wait to discover the Paldea region.
When I was younger, I also have fond memories of my mom giving me a few boosters, and like many growing up, I gave my cards to relatives. However, being quite conservative, I still kept all my favorite cards like my beautiful Draco from the basic set.
In the years 2015/2016, I came across content from a Youtuber who shared her passion for cards. At that time, there was still little content on this theme and I was happy to be able to re-discover cards and the joy of collecting through this Youtuber.
This young girl had eyes that shone when she showed us her cards and especially the Japanese Pokémon cards that I discovered at the same time. The beauty of the cards, their quality, the emotion shared gave me a crazy desire to dive back into them.
In 2016, Japanese Pokémon cards were not as popular as they are today: it was still quite rare to find other collectors and stores.
At the beginning, like many collectors, I wanted to "have it all" and look for all possible and existing cards. For that, there were "Mystery cubes" and I bought a lot of them! It was great for someone like me who was starting from scratch in his Pokémon collection: there were some "beautiful cards" and then it was bulk! I was extremely happy because the bulk inside was old cards like the ones in the base set or "newer" ones like the ones from the Legendary collection.
This really helped me to build a very good base for my Japanese card collection.
I've learned that I tend to like "old" cards, those that aren't necessarily "mint" and those that have had a life before. I like to imagine that they belonged to children and played with them, or find an initial written in marker on the back of the card.
I find that we tend to forget that they are playing cards... As you can see, I am not a big fan of graded cards, I understand the principle, but it adds a "cold" side and a certain distance. I like to take my cards in hand and handle them, even if I am aware of their value and I take precautions.
I love cards that tell a story and I pay close attention to the illustrations and what they convey. For example, the Gloom card released in 2002 and the card released 20 years later, tell us something...
Same illustrator, same story but 20 years of waiting to discover the continuation: Gloom finally fell from his tree.
I'd like to get back to the magic of Pokémon collecting: when there wasn't that big monetary value and there was just the fun of cards, opening and trading. The time when we were still happy to have a holographic card and the secret card was really exceptional.
Nowadays, everyone is looking for the "banger" of the expansion and not enjoying the rest. I think it's important to simply share this passion and enjoy all the cards.
That's what I try to pass on to the children of my relatives: I make them their own "Mystery Box" and let them enjoy it.
I'd like to get into the Vstar Universe Master set: the announced cards all look great and as I said: beautiful illustrations, that's really what I'm looking for. Also, with the Japanese displays like the S12a "Vstar Universe", "you get what you pay for": every deck is bound to have interesting cards!
It's hard to pick just 3 cards but I would say:
I also collect especially the alternative Pokémon cards in Japanese language. In fact, I have all the alternative cards from the Sword and Shield block without any exception (except Lugia which I haven't acquired yet). I really like the alternative Noctali Vmax from Eevee Heroes that I bought from Cardotaku (like many others).
One of my dream cards would be the Japanese version of Suicune's Star card (and Star cards in general).
Ahah, so yes! For the record, I don't like Charizard very much (yes, it happens), but I pull it absolutely all the time: as soon as an expansion comes out with one or more secret Charizard cards, you can be sure I'll pull it!
"Thank you again Sueli for this interview and thank you for this great dose of passion you shared with us and our readers/customers at Cardotaku".

The purpose: to find a solution to the problems encountered recently on the market.
In fact, starting last September, some expansion packs of the Pokémon TCG will be reissued in a new version. This allowed us to discover these new boxes to the reprint of the S10D collection.
The new design of the boosters box will allow it to be opened along the dotted line via a detachable strip.
It's a direct solution to the growing entry into the market of re-sealed boosters box. Indeed, during the official reprint of Eevee Heroes, some unscrupulous retailers have not hesitated to sell re-sealed boxes of this expansion but including inside other items.
Moreover, this had made a lot of noise on social networks and this story has probably reached the ears of manufacturers because with this new design, it will be easy to know if a box of booster was opened or not.
The plastic film retains its place and function, which means that this additional protection appears as a bonus to ensure the authenticity of the product.
So don't be surprised to receive packages from Cardotaku (or other stores) with these new boxes. At the moment the modification is only for the S10D set, but it seems logical that the next expansion "s12 Paradigm Trigger" and reprint will have the same system.
I his will be the penultimate extension of the "sword and shield" block and especially the last "main" display (the last Japanese Sword & Shield set will be S12a High Class Pack VSTAR Universe ). This set will include Lugia V and VSTAR, as well as Regidraco V / VSTAR, Regieleki V / VMAX and Unown V / VSTAR.
The release date is scheduled for October 21st and as usual, we will receive them on October 20th in Cardotaku's office and will prepare and ship all the pre-orders so that they reach you as soon as possible.
The expansion will include 98 cards and secrets (the number is not yet known). The box will include 30 boosters of 5 cards.
As always, pre-orders for the Pokemon S12 "Paradigm Trigger" displays will be available about a week before the release date. We only release Pokemon products when we have confirmation of stock so we never cancel orders.
A FREE gift campaign has been announced and will of course be implemented at Cardotaku.
It is announced that for one display purchased (box of 30 boosters), 1 pack of promotional cards will be offered (offer cumulative for each box purchased). This pack of promo cards contains one card chosen at random among five different cards.
The campaign will start as soon as we have the products on October 20, 2022 and will end as soon as the stocks of promotional boosters are exhausted.
NB: We will probably buy promotional boosters from our suppliers. Please note that ALL the boosters we get for free will be given away and all the boosters we buy will be sold on our site by the unit.
A mystery box will be released the same day and will contain a Deck box and a Deck Sleeves (random among 4 different ones), a Promo card, a Card box and 7 boosters packs of Expansion pack "Paradigm Trigger.
You can find the product sheet here.
Thank you for your reading and your interest. We remain at your disposal.

The universe should please you: from green forests to a sinister library, the settings are varied and pleasant to look at and inspired by the manga style. The card list is really beautiful and we had in our hands cards of a real beauty and very worked. Really, a big congratulations for their illustrations!
Where Shadowverse also stands out is in a very original mechanic: evolution. Indeed, the cards will have alternative and more powerful forms that will gain in attack or defense if you decide to make them evolve. That's why you can find visually very similar cards, there is the normal version and the evolved version.
The deck contains 40 cards that are classified into three types:
The goal of the duel is to lower your opponent's health points from 20 to 0 using fighters, amulets, spells and special abilities of the leader (or hero).
Shadowverse Evolve is a TCG card game that should please collectors and players who appreciate the universe of Yu-Gi-Oh! or Magit The Gathering.
The cards are a real success and the boosters are great thanks to their different rarity, shine types and card thicknesses.
A very interesting game to play and collect for fun!

]]>In Japan, a special Pikachu Pokemon Card Game promotional card will be offered as an advance purchase bonus for the physical versions of the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet / Violet video games.
We decided to offer you the game right here (Scarlet / Violet), with the promotional card offered. The game is Japanese but can be played in all languages offered by the publisher, including English and French. You will be able to play it on your Nintendo Switch without any problem :)
This special Pikachu card reveals a little more about the first three partner Pokémon, Fuecoco, Quaxly and Sprigatito that we will be able to choose. Strangely, this card does not have a promotion number, this may change as the Pokemon Center website mentioned that the "images are in development. Color and design may differ from the actual card."
Regarding the purchase of the card individually, we will have to wait until the release to offer it to you individually and in large quantities :)
So, what do you think, will this card be the very first promo card of this new era ???

]]>It's a game on arcade terminals and present in many game centers. The players play with cards that they put on the machine and play the role of a commander who must direct 5 mobile suits and their 5 pilots in order to defeat the enemy ships.
The game is then a "real time strategy" type game played with cards (brilliant and really beautiful). A game in Japan costs minimum 200¥ and the player can decide to draw cards before and after his game (for 100¥ more per card drawn).
The Mobile Suits (robot / gundam) and pilots cards are placed on the terminal in dedicated boxes (control panel) so that the terminal reads the QR code and allows you to play your game with the characters on your cards. The pilots will be on top and their gundam will be below.
The cards are classified into 4 categories : common, rare, master rare and perfect rare.
Pilots are divided into several types : Annihilation (attack priority), Suppression (mothership priority), Defense (base priority).
Giant robots (mobile Suits) also have their types : Short distance (easy in close combat), Long distance (allows to fight at a distance), Mobility (allows to move quickly).
Gundam Arsenal Base is a complicated game that requires real strategy. Apart from the terminal game, many collect the cards like a TCG and put them in a binder to showcase the most beautiful and rare cards. They are of very good quality and even the less rare ones have very nice illustrations and glosses.
We decided to share our passion for these great robots with you. You can find all the Gundam products right here.
Don't hesitate to add one or two cards in your next order in order to have the pleasure to discover them and to hold them in your hands.
We filmed our test on the Gundam Arsenal Base :

]]>As you already know, the One Piece TCG cards are out, and they are incredible. They are so incredible that the products are unfortunately out of stock everywhere...
Currently (August 17, 2022), it is impossible for us to find OP-01 booster boxes or decks via the classic way : our suppliers (because they have been sold out).
However, we can get the boxes and some products through other ways, like buying back products from individuals.
The difficulty of this type of transaction is that these sellers offer prices much too expensive compared to the classic price.
That's why we make the choice not to put these products in stock on Cardotaku.com because we don't want to propose them at prices.
On the other hand, if despite this, you are interested in acquiring One Piece products, you can contact us via the contact form : we will look for the products for you and we will make you a proposal.
For the moment, we are waiting for a reprint but nothing has been officially announced. So we can't know if the OP-01 boxes will be printed and even less when.
For the OP-02, no announcement of pre-order opening or any other official announcement has been made and we are also waiting for that. Of course, we are watching the developments and will keep you informed.
From our experience, pre-orders are made at least 4 months before the release date for Digimon products (from the same publisher), which makes us think that we won't see OP-02 products before the end of the year or the beginning of next year. This is a personal feeling and not from official sources.
We offer One Piece single cards : OP-01 cards, promotional cards. You will be able to find them regularly because we put them in stock very often.
If some cards are not in stock, we can also propose you a personalized order so do not hesitate to contact us by email or by the contact form and we will make you our proposals.
We are at your disposal to answer your questions and research.

This is a great novelty, after having several times collaborations, this time the One Piece license arrives with its own TCG, its own rules and its regular extensions.
First announced in March 2022, this TCG quickly won the hearts of fans with its beautiful illustrations that were revealed every day on the official Twitter account.
The trading card game is published by Carddass, so if you know the TCG Digimon, you will quickly find your bearings with the TCG One Piece.
The products One Piece are here : Cardotaku.com
One Piece products were released in Japan in July to celebrate the 25th anniversary of this iconic license.
The illustrations cards are heterogeneous because many illustrators are part of this new adventure. Even if, like Pokémon, the styles of the cards can be different from each other, the whole remains very harmonious and the cards splendid.
The first extension is the BT-01 (which you can find here), and has a multitude of characters emblematic of the series: you will inevitably find your happiness !
The boxes include 24 boosters packs of 6 cards with a brilliant guarantee in each booster. We don't know yet if the next expansions will keep this format.
For the information, the name "romance dawn" refers to two stories written by Eiichiro Oda before the creation of "One Piece" as we know it, but set in a similar world.
Your deck will consist of 50 cards and a leader card. The color of your "leader" card in play will tell you which cards you can play.
The "don deck" cards will allow you to play "moves/attacks" like the energy cards in Pokémon which are necessary to attack.
To win a game, you will have to destroy all your opponent's HP and inflict an extra attack.
We offer the One Piece cards on our website and you can find the card list and the cards right here !

]]>It's Florian, he's a 28 years old collector, father of a family and passionate about Japanese culture. He likes the anime of his childhood and loves the different licenses like Dragon Ball, Pokémon and others... Let's go to the interview !
"I'm a rather introverted person in everyday life : I don't wear t-shirts with the logos of my favorite licenses but it's once at home that you can discover my universe...
The eccentric side of manga and anime has always attracted me ! I have a big brother and a big sister, we grew up with Club Dorothé, the Knight of the Zodiac or Dragon Ball on Game One and AB1.
When I was a kid, I had a few video games and that's where my passion for collecting started, I've kept everything since then : old posters, Carddass cards, lots of stuff from the 2000s and from my childhood... Everything I liked !"
As I said, I like a lot of licenses, but like many collectors, I had to make choices and I decided to focus my collection on Dragon Ball !
I like collecting Super Dragon Ball Heroes cards, and especially sealed products, beautiful items, well worked, neat, rare and with beautiful visuals.
Staying in Dragon Ball products, I also like posters, clear files, figures, video games and their collector versions.
Beyond having beautiful objects, I give even more importance to the notion of sharing and community. I like to share the moments of unboxing with my relatives, my friends, to make lives on social networks and to create memories in connection with the collection and the objects I have.
In my collection, I find that the notion of community and sharing is almost as important as the products themselves. In any case, it's really linked.
At the moment, I would like to realize some decoration projects. I have a dedicated room full of boxes that I haven't unpacked yet. I would like to have the opportunity to showcase my different products and make a beautiful room dedicated to my collection to put different displays.
It's mostly composed of Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and Super Dragon Ball Heroes products. I have products of all languages : Japanese, French, English and even Spanish. I mainly focus on the favorite products and the exclusivities.
Concerning the products, I have about 300 cards unpacked and 4000 cards of Super Dragon Ball Heroes waiting for next openings and opportunities !
It's very difficult to choose ! There are so many sealed products and cards that I love!
I think I would choose these :
- My binder "Special Set Super Dragon Ball Heroes 11th Anniversary" in Japanese version : As the name suggests, it’s released for the 11 years and has a very qualitative imitation leather and chrome effect! It’s a birthday gift so it has a very high sentimental value.
- The Super Dragon Ball Heroes pamphlet : this is one of the most recent products I imported from Japan. I'm very, very fond of official catalogs from movies.
- Limited edition of the movie Dragon Ball Z "Battle of God". It includes: an artbook, the DVD and blu-ray of the movie, a figurine and other posters of the movie.
I would dream of many Dragon Ball items and products : like any collector.
Assuming that there is "no limit", I dream of a life-size figure of Freezer. From memory, the one I could see was about 1.50 m wide and 2.40 m high : A WONDER !
There is also the Tsume Art figure with Broly, I think it's really incredible !
And my ultimate dream would be a personalized dedication by one of the voice actors in French or even in Japanese."
"Thank you very much for this interview. We wish you great adventures in your collection and to please yourself."

]]>The set will contain 100 cards and a slew of secrets but, as usual, we don't know the exact number yet.
At the time of writing, no visuals of the secret cards have been released, but the card list has just been announced !
Giratine is the big star of this expansion : we can only imagine a nice full art of this Pokémon or a Rainbow card, let's keep our fingers crossed that it will come true :)
The box will correspond to the "classic" format : that is, it will include 30 boosters of 5 cards !
Two decks will be released the same day as the expansion and will feature in two separate decks: Zeraora and Deoxys, both in Vmax and Vstar form.
We are going to, like all the Japanese Pokémon cards releases, propose you the products on our website Cardotaku.com, you will be able to find there the displays, the decks and the cards by unit.
Restocks will be set up very regularly in order to satisfy all our customers.

]]>No need to introduce Weekly Shōnen Jump (週刊少年ジャンプ), the weekly manga pre-publication magazine in Japan that has been offering new chapters and new Shonen licenses every Monday since 1968.
But do you know the "Jump Victory Carnival" ?! It's an annual event (which comes back after an absence due to Covid) and which takes place in the huge Makuhari Messe Hall, just outside Tokyo, in Chiba on next July 17.
To participate in this event, you had to register from June 13 and hope to be drawn. Indeed, only 8000 places were available this year.
At Cardotaku we're great enthusiasts, that's why we decided to try our luck to participate in this beautiful event that Jean-Baptiste, the creator of Cardotaku, had the chance to see a first time in 2019.
Thanks to a nice dose of luck, we were drawn and got our tickets to this year's "Jump Victory Carnival" : so, we're going at Tokyo next week-end !
This morning, we finalized our business trip : the hotel is booked, the plane too and the team is mobilized! Of course, we will share the beauty of this event with you on our social networks.
Concerning the event, all the information isn't revealed in advance in order to keep the maximum of suspense but we will find Luffy from One Piece (as well as information about Red, the next movie), Goku from Dragon Ball, Midoriya from My Hero Academia as well as characters from Yu-Gi-Oh!, Dragon Quest, Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer, as we can see on the promotional poster of the Jump Victory Carnival 2022 event.

In a very near future, the Earth is invaded by fantastic creatures that come out of 5 black holes. These are portals connecting different parallel worlds and having an impact on the fate of the Earth. They are called "Black Points" and are futures of the earth in parallel worlds and different time axes.
The objective of these creatures is to take control of their future (that of their species) by carrying out a mass destruction of the other "Black Points" and thus to preserve only one future : unique and singular.
The female and male characters have no other solution than to adapt and fight. To get out of this situation, they use a Z/X card reader to summon fantastic creatures and monsters.
New Z/X card extensions are released regularly and have been for 10 years!
The products are grouped in several formats:
They are available in books, events and other occasions for a limited time.
Find an unpacking of Z/X cards made by one of our customers, you can discover the cards, the format and the types of rarity and gloss.
To discover the cards, here is an opening of an old display made by one of our customers :

Here is a new article format that we would like to introduce to you : the interview of our customers !
Since we are a team of passionate people, we want to share and exchange around the Japanese cards and the different tcg we propose and collect.
What better way to do that than to get to know you : Cardotaku.com customers.
It's Manon, a 27 years old collector who is passionate about Japanese Pokémon cards.
We take advantage of this blog post to introduce her officially : she is our new marketing employee !
"Hello Manon and welcome again to Cardotaku. Can you tell us how you got the urge to collect?"
I started my collection when I was very little, like many children born in the late 90s ! Pokémon had just come out and it was true that it was crazy in the playground, between the rubber band game and Pokémon, my heart was rather conquered by these funny monsters.
You couldn't really call it collecting, but anyway I loved playing with the cards, trading them (and often getting ripped off by my elementary school colleagues). In any case, I keep very good memories of my grandmother going to buy "Télé Z" at the bookstore and taking me a Dunkin, Wizard or Pokéball booster with a figurine and a candy inside.
Growing up, like many, I sold my cards at flea markets. There was even a Christmas when I didn't have a gift planned for my brother so I gave him all the rest of my card collection. I guess you could say it took a while for karma to kick in, but it sure caught up with me !
In 2019, so a year before the Pokémon hype started, I took a trip to Japan and rediscovered the joy of buying Pokémon boosters. Japanese Pokémon cards were very affordable in terms of budget and I rediscovered the pleasures of collecting. A few weeks later, I went to the USA for travel and there the stock was crazy : many different sets, everywhere and at a price much lower than in France. So, I went back to 1000% !
I stay in Pokémon, but I also collect sealed items. I find new sets, displays, and other products to be MAGNIFICENT and I always get a twinge of excitement when I open one. Now I try to buy the products I like in duplicate : one to open and one for my seal collection.
You could say it's kitschy but with all the hype lately, I'd say "passion": having fun opening, looking for the right opportunities and most of all enjoying yourself! There are 1000 different ways to collect but for me, as long as you have fun, that's all that matters :)
Oulaaaaah, it's going to be hard to choose only 3 Pokémon items/cards... Already, the ones I tend to prefer are the Japanese Pokémon cards. I find them much more beautiful, worked and I like the fact that they are very exclusive.
Then, to pick just 3, I would say:
There are still a lot of cards I want to have in my collection, but first priority would be :
"Thank you very much for this interview. We wish you great adventures in your collection, find the cards of your dreams and make you happy."
We are an online store of Japanese cards offering several mythical licenses like Pokémon, Dragon Ball, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic or new licenses like Shadowverse, Z-X or Build Divide.
Our office is based in Kawachinagano, Osaka prefecture in Japan.
See you on Cardotaku.com
]]>The next Pokémon expansion will be released on Friday, June 17, 2022 and it's going to be a big one ! At Cardotaku, we are very excited to discover, and offer you, these new products and cards from this collection.
It will contain 71 cards and for the moment the total number of secrets has not been announced yet (although some visuals have already been revealed).
A display / box will include 20 boosters and each booster will have 6 cards inside. Among them, there will be 2 parallel cards (or reverse) including an energy and another card (Pokémon or Trainer).
There will be a card in each booster with a code that can be used in the Pokémon Go game.
Promo boosters have been announced to accompany the release of this new expansion. Pokémon has specified that, as for the S4 expansion or the 25 years promo boosters, the distribution will be done according to the available stocks (= no reissue of the promotional boosters in the future).
These boosters will contain 1 promotional card among the 7 available cards.
For this expansion, Pokémon offers us a very original concept: To find Ditto in the Pokémon GO expansion, you'll have to look for the little distinctive sign on the other cards.
Once found, you can take off to reveal the Transformed Pokémon below !
Pre-orders for displays, special set and the cards file set will be offered in the coming days (to avoid missing the online release, go here and activate the restock alert).
As usual, many restocks will arrive over the days and weeks to satisfy all our customers.
Are you as hyped as we are about this new extension? To discover the product sheets, activate the restock alert and see the card list being displayed as you go along, go here ;)

Since May 25th, the Japanese clothing brand : Graniph has launched a new project. It's an official collection composed of clothes and other products (like cups or a bag).
Pre-orders have been opened since May 25th on the official website of Graniph and in other authorized stores. However, the number of items is limited to one per order and the promotional card isn't guaranteed.
By the way, let's go back to the Pichu promo card: "Mischievous Pichu". It's logically offered in orders made in Pokemon Center or Graniph but the principle in place is that of 1st come - 1st served. So they can't guarantee that the card will be in the order placed.
Because, the orders of articles being limited and without guarantee to have the promotional card (in Graniph shop), we preferred to look for a supplier for these cards in order to propose them on the store in quantity and especially at the best price.
Thus, collectors from all over the world, who didn't order on the Graniph website, will be able to find their happiness on our website : https://cardotaku.com/
We can't wait to offer you this great card from Pichu, which is very rarely offered as a promo card :)

At Cardotaku, we are very excited to be able to offer you this wonderful product. We have put together for you, the information we can share with you right now.

These designs will be present on the box or the storage folder.
The box will contain a Pikachu promotional card that will only be available in this box.
There will also be storage accessories such as a frame to display a card, a binder, 1 storage box, 5 dividers and finally the shiny Pikachu 323/SP promo card.
Delivery is initially scheduled for late November, with possible delays in delivery from Pokémon.
YES ! Like all Pokémon premium boxes, we will be offering this product on the cardotaku.com website.
However, being dependent on the constraints imposed by the Pokémon Center and our suppliers, we cannot afford to offer this product in pre-orders. We will therefore have to wait for the release of the Precious collector box to stock up.
As for the previous collectors' products, we will restock them day after day in order to satisfy all our customers.
Thank you for reading and see you soon.

]]>On our site, the majority of new cards have a single visual used to group several identical cards on the same product sheet. We estimate their condition to be : Near Mint.
Indeed, you have to be aware that even directly out of the booster and protected by us, a card can present defects such as a micro scratch, a white spot or a slight cut mark.
For cards with more imperfections, we write an individual product sheet (like here). As a general rule, we take a photo and/or video of the card on a black background, making the defects visible. For some older cards, we even take the liberty of circling the defects in order to allow a total transparency on the products put on sale. In any case, if you have any doubts, do not hesitate to contact us by email (info@cardotaku.com) to ask for additional photos.
We qualify the cards according to the established global criteria:
- Mint / Near mint : The card is almost perfect, but a micro scratch, a white spot or a slight cutting defect may be present. Even if these are minimal, they can be visible to the naked eye.
- Excellent : A card that is, as its name indicates, in excellent condition, but with enough small defects to be no longer Near Mint (small white dots on the black border, discrete impact or rubbing marks on the edges, slightly worn corners, possibly numerous scratches when playing with the light).
- Good: It has significant white marks on the edges, noticeable scuffing or obvious nicks on the corners and edges.
- Played: They are very damaged, the edges are almost white, and the text or illustration may have been largely erased. Very numerous nicks, marks, and dirt accumulation.
The cards we propose are located between near mint and excellent condition depending on the card, its age... Anyway, a card whose condition is below "near mint" or "excellent" will always be given a picture showing the card in detail.
We would also like to remind you that we don't sell cards for grading and that, consequently, we are unable to guarantee a maximum grade of 10/10.
Thank you all for reading and visiting our site, if you have any doubt, don't hesitate to contact us by email to ask for more pictures.
